Kurt Phinney joined the MET Chorus full-time in 1994, became Assistant Chorus Manager in 2000 and Chorus Manager in 2001.
He earned a Bachelors degree with Honors from the University of Massachusetts, as well as a Masters degree and Doctorate from Columbia University where he taught Musicianship, Music Humanities, Diatonic Harmony and Chromatic Harmony. In 1988 he won an ASCAP award for his Missa Brevis.
